Hello everybody! I know I’ve been awfully quiet on the blog for the last several months, but I’m ready to get back into the swing of things with some great new content planned for the rest of 2021. We’ll be diving into a series on religious trauma in October and then we’ll spend November and December exploring issues around the patriarchy: what it is, where it came from, and how we can combat its power in our everyday lives. Looking forward to unpacking these issues with you!
So where have you been, Christine? Here’s a little update on my life. The biggest thing impacting my writing was that I have been pregnant! My family and I will be welcoming a second kiddo into our lives, ETA January 2022. The sheer exhaustion and shift in priorities during first trimester in particular threw me off my game, and I’m pretty sure you also understand what it’s like to get out of a habit and have a hard time starting again. So thank you for your patience while I re-found my writing mojo!
We also moved houses this summer, which was exciting but also a ton of work. Thankfully we had some wonderful help from family, which is especially needed when I’m not exactly in peak lifting condition! 😉 We’re getting settled in our new home and excited to welcome a second child soon.
This one might not seem like a big deal, but I moved my website host, too (from WordPress.com to Bluehost hosting WordPress.org). You can find my main website at christinegreenwald.com – I will maintain this site as my blog and maybe eventually switch back here for the main site 🤷♀️ Meanwhile, I discovered important lessons, such as not overestimating one’s technological capabilities. 😝 Whoops! It was a pretty big struggle to get the new site going and I’m learning that I should probably value my time enough to pay a little more money for an easier hosting experience!
I have also been exploring new opportunities in my professional life. As you know, I am a mental health therapist. I’ve been engaged in a transformative training that is created specifically for treating complex developmental trauma (including preverbal trauma, a need not met by many conventional trauma therapies). It’s called NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model), and while it’s not yet well-known, I am so thrilled to be part of this training. It aligns with my beliefs about psychology and spirituality and I find it is a powerful way of helping clients enact change in their lives. I’m excited for some of the new directions I’m going to take my career!
I anticipate things will be a little quieter from me in the beginning of 2022 as we work our way through the newborn phase of family life, but we’ll pick back up again before long. We’ve got some other great ideas for content up our sleeves, but I’d also love to hear from you. Are there any topics you want to read about, especially as it relates to religious trauma, psychology, counseling, or spirituality? Drop me a comment or send me a message!

Welcome BACK !!!
Thanks! Feels good to be back!
First of all, congrats on the second pregnancy!
Secondly, I think this current website I’m seeing (mostofmyfriendsarebooks.wordpress.com) is still a WordPress.com website instead of Bluehost, correct me if I’m wrong?
Anyway, wishing you all the best with all the positive changes happening in your life!
Thank you! And yes, you’re absolutely right – thanks for your attention to that detail! I cross-posted this with my Bluehost-hosted website (christinegreenwald.com) but didn’t edit this version. I’ll go note that now! I think I prefer the ease of WordPress.com and I’ve had my blog for over a decade, so I want to keep it running! Plus the blogging community is nice to be part of. 🙂
